A 2014 Retrospective
2014 seems to have gone by in a blink, but looking back on it was full of small but significant strides in my career.
In March I traveled up to Ithaca where I worked on a short film called "Rudolph vs. Reese," a dark comedy involving Santa Claus, Rudolph, and a lawsuit in the aftermath of a sleigh crash. I had a delightful time on set, and while my role isn't featured in the trailer, you can view it here.
Later that month I booked a role in a feature film that was being written and directed by an award-winning filmmaker and regular at Sundance. A month later an executive producer came on board under the stipulation that all principal roles be re-cast with Bigger Name Actors. I was heartbroken of course, but if nothing else I earned the right to pat myself on the back for having booked the job in the first place. Onwards and upwards.
2014 was also the year in which my three passions, acting, writing, and fashion/beauty, finally came together in my blog, "Life in Costume: An Actress' Musings on Beauty and Style" (more to come on that front after a long break). As it happens, my next film gig involved playing Charlotte Holloway, a crazed fashion vlogger in the satirical web series "Haul Oh!"
Under the helm of director Geoff Ryan, I co-wrote this dark and funny web series that follows the shopping and YouTube celebrity addictions of Charlotte Holloway through her "haul" videos. Haul Oh! is a thirteen episode satirical send-up of celebrity aspiration and "like" obsession.
Visit Spork Production's Website for the trailer and follow the link to our YouTube page where you can find our whole season. While you're there be sure to check out Geoff's other projects, including his feature film "Fray."
In other news, I finally got my Equity card, and you can now find me on the imdb!
Here's to an even more fruitful 2015!
